Optometrist
Dr. McCarty joined the Eye Care Center team of doctors in 2003 and became a partner in the practice in 2015. She is a native of the Twin Cities. She received her bachelor's degree from North Dakota State University and her Doctor of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. Dr. McCarty was vice-president of her class at PCO, graduated as a member of the Gold Key International Honor Society, and received honors for clinical excellence.
Following optometry school, Dr. McCarty completed an optometric residency at Minnesota Eye Consultants, P.A. in Minneapolis. Her residency emphasized cornea, refractive surgery, glaucoma, and surgery co-management. She has lectured nationally, has also published articles in professional journals and has authored chapters in clinical textbooks on these topics.
Dr. McCarty currently serves on the Minnesota State Board of Optometry. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, a member of the Minnesota Optometric Association and American Optometric Association, a past President of the Minnesota Optometric Association and received Minnesota’s “Optometrist of the Year” award in 2015.
She resides with her husband, Jason, and three sons in Medina.
